<p><strong>Qualifications:-</strong></p><p>Third Officer, Third Engineer, Fourth Engineer</p><p></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><p>While ultimately responsible to the General Manager in respect of the following functions relative to the vessels allocated to them, as a group member the Ship Manager shall work under the general direction of the Fleet Manager and shall liaise closely with other operational staff to ensure that the management of the vessels is carried out in a safe and practical manner and to provide the client(s) with all necessary information relating to the operation of their vessel(s) and to ensure that there is proper consultation with the client. </p><p> </p><ul><li><p>The Ship Manager’s duties shall include, but are not limited to, the following:</p></li><li><p>Monitor and/or control all matters relating to the commercial operation of the vessel(s) e.g. Instructions to Master, Agents, Cargo Bunkers, etc.;</p></li><li><p>Coordinate the preparation of vessel’s detailed annual budget and the subsequent control of the operational costs, ensuring that clients are notified immediately of any actual or potential variation;</p></li><li><p>Coordinate the preparation and timely submission to clients of all financial and operational reports required under the management agreement;</p></li><li><p>Ensure that clients are immediately advised of any incident or untoward happening likely to affect the performance or profitability of the vessel with special attention being given to any issue which may affect vessel’s freight carrying ability, speed and/or consumption or variations to schedule;</p></li><li><p>Ensure that all vessel’s certificates are valid at all times including initial issue and renewal of Insurance Certification as appropriate;</p></li><li><p>Review reports submitted by vessels to IMS/Danaos in Ship Manager’s section.</p></li><li><p>Act as a member of the Emergency Team in respect to the vessels allocated to them;</p></li><li><p>Act as Duty Ship Manager in line with the duty rota;</p></li><li><p>To act as alternate Company Security Officer (CSO) for allocated vessels;</p></li><li><p>Collate records required for insurance claims files from the Operations, Personnel and Accounts Departments;</p></li><li><p>Liaise with the adjusters on the preparation and submission of all data relative to claims with Underwriters or P&I Clubs;</p></li><li><p>Correspondence with Insurance Brokers, H&M Underwriters and Average adjusters;</p></li><li><p>Maintaining all records, files for H&M, P&I non-medical and Loss of Hire insurance claims;</p></li><li><p>Discuss with Principals and their representatives, claim records, statistics, recovery schedules and any other queries;</p></li><li><p>Provide cover for any employee within their department as directed by the Fleet Manager.</p></li></ul><p></p>
