<p><strong>Qualification</strong>:</p><ul><li><p>Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mari me Studies, Supply Chain Management or related field. </p></li><li><p>Candidates with an Engineering / Technical background will be preferred, considering the technical nature of vessel procurement.</p></li><li><p>MBA / Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain or Procurement would be an added advantage. </p></li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong> 1. Procurement Leadership & Strategy</strong></p><ul><li><p><strong> </strong>Independently manage and oversee the end-to-end procurement function for offshore vessels.</p></li><li><p>Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely availability of marine spares, stores, equipment, consumables and services.</p></li><li><p>Plan procurement requirements in coordination with Technical Superintendents, vessel teams and management. </p></li><li><p>Priori se critical and operational requirements to avoid vessel down me and operational delays.</p></li><li><p>Establish and continuously improve procurement policies, systems, SOPs and approval workflows.</p></li><li><p>Ensure proper controls, transparency and accountability throughout the procurement cycle. </p></li></ul><p><strong>2. Marine & Technical Procurement</strong></p><ul><li><p> Review and evaluate vessel requisitions for engine, deck, electrical, technical and safety related spares and equipment.</p></li><li><p>Understand technical specifications, equipment applications, maker requirements and suitability of spares before procurement.</p></li><li><p>Work closely with Technical Superintendents, Chief Engineers, Masters and vessel personnel to understand technical requirements and identify appropriate suppliers.</p></li><li><p>Ensure procurement is in line with vessel specifications, Approved Makers Lists and applicable marine requirements.</p></li><li><p>Manage procurement requirements for offshore vessels including DP vessels, OSVs, AHTS, PSVs and other specialized marine assets, as applicable. </p></li><li><p>Understand the urgency and operational criticality associated with offshore vessel procurement.</p></li><li><p>Handle emergency and breakdown-related purchases within tight operational timelines. </p></li><li><p>Coordinate procurement based on vessel schedules, port calls, mobilization and offshore operational requirements. </p></li><li><p>Offshore and DP vessel experience has been specifically identified as a strong preference for this role. </p></li></ul><p><strong>3 Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Development</strong> </p><ul><li><p>Develop and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, authorized dealers, ship chandlers, service providers and global marine suppliers.</p></li><li><p>Establish reliable vendor networks across key domestic and international ports. </p></li><li><p>Source and develop alternative suppliers without compromising quality or technical requirements. </p></li><li><p>Evaluate vendors based on pricing, quality, lead me, reliability and a er-sales support. </p></li><li><p>Develop preferred supplier arrangements and long-term commercial relationships.</p></li><li><p>Maintain competitive vendor options to reduce dependency on single suppliers. </p></li></ul><p><strong>4. Commercial Negotiation & Cost Control</strong> </p><ul><li><p>Lead commercial negotiations for pricing, payment terms, freight, warranties, lead times and other contractual terms.</p></li><li><p>Conduct comparative analysis of quotations and ensure commercially completive procurement. </p></li><li><p>Drive cost reduction and procurement savings initiatives through strategic sourcing, volume consolidation and negotiations. </p></li><li><p>Analyses procurement spending, supplier trends and cost variances. </p></li><li><p>Balance commercial savings with vessel safety, technical suitability and operational urgency. The Purchase Manager JD specifically places responsibility on strategic negotiations, spend analysis, budge ng and cost-saving initiatives. </p></li></ul><p><strong>5. West Africa Procurement & Market Development </strong></p><ul><li><p> Manage and support procurement requirements for vessels operating in West African markets, where applicable. </p></li><li><p>Develop relationships with suppliers, agents, logistics providers and marine service companies in the region.</p></li><li><p>Understand local procurement challenges, vendor capabilities, logistics requirements and operating conditions.</p></li><li><p>Maintain an effective vendor network capable of supporting urgent offshore vessel requirements. Strong working exposure to West Africa, particularly in relation to offshore operations, suppliers and procurement, has been specifically identified as desirable. </p></li></ul><p></p>
