<p><strong>Marine Superintendent</strong></p><p> </p><p><strong>Function</strong></p><p>The Marine Superintendent is responsible for:</p><p>· Safety culture onboard vessels</p><p>· Complying with regulations</p><p>· Ensuring vessel delivers safe and effective navigation and cargo operations</p><p>· Monitoring the<strong> </strong>safety<strong>, </strong>navigation, cargo, and commercial readiness of the vessel.</p><p>· Assisting in continual improvement of HSQEEn procedures</p><p>· Identifying training needs for ship personnel</p><p>· Identifying security risk associated and preparing vessel for the voyage </p><p></p><p><strong>KPIs</strong></p><p>· TRCF</p><p>· LTIF</p><p>· PSC</p><p>· Off hire</p><p></p><p><strong>Tasks</strong></p><p>Marine Superintendent shall:</p><p>· Assist the vessel in navigation, safety, or cargo related issues.</p><p>· Guide vessel in cargo operations including stowage plan, tank cleaning</p><p>· Monitor asset maintenance (cosmetic) of vessel as per form Tech 35.</p><p>· Assist Master to ensure cargo suitability and compatibility</p><p>· Assist with oil major requirements for commercial fixture</p><p>· Review vessels for STS operations</p><p>· Monitor weather reports and advise the vessel in routeing</p><p>· Assist vessel in HRA transit including arranging of armed guards</p><p>· Monitor rest hour records</p><p>· Review and approve JSA’s</p><p>· Review HSE meetings /USA/USC/Near Miss/Drill reports</p><p>· Assist in scheduling vetting inspections and preparing response to vetting observations</p><p>· Schedule and prepare vessels for external audits and inspections</p><p>· Conduct safety inspection onboard</p><p>· Review and close the PMS jobs (marine)</p><p>· Verify audit/inspection/incident related CAR’s and close WO’s</p><p>· Investigate incidents as per company procedure</p><p>· Initiate and implement MOC as per company procedure</p><p>· Liaise with flag, class, P&I / H&M in consultation with FM </p><p>· Participate in Ship/Shore drills, training programs and seminars</p><p>· Member of the crisis management team</p><p>· Conduct interview of deck officers</p><p>· Conduct pre-joining briefing of deck officers, Master, and CE</p><p>· Appraise Master prior completion of contract</p><p>· Follow up on the Navigation/Safety campaigns to ensure proper implementation </p><p>· Take over and hand over of vessels</p><p>· Any other tasks allocated by the FM</p><p>· Complete Off 22 - Superintendent Handover Notes for change in assignment, termination or when proceeding on business trip/ vacation.</p><p></p><p>Minimum Experience</p><p>2 years’ experience in a senior management position on board</p><p>or 1-year experience in a similar rank in shore-based position</p><p></p>
