<p><strong>Essential</strong></p><p>• Competences (as defined within the ISM Code) to act in the role of DPA<br />• Professional Qualification or Certification in HSSEQ-related field<br />• Recognized DPA and CSO qualifications<br />• Recognized Incident Investigator qualification<br />• Strong, clear communication skills, especially regarding maintenance of HSSEQ standards<br />• Extensive experience of delivering against needs of various statutory external bodies; Class, Flag etc.<br />• Experience of interfacing with clients and meeting their demands in relation to implementation and management of HSSEQ-specific aspects<br />• Significant experience in engaging and collaborating with multinational / multicultural teams.<br /> </p><p><strong>Desirable</strong></p><p>• Significant experience in a management role<br />• Good working knowledge of ISM and ISPS codes, other standards (MLC, MARPOL, SOLAS, ISO, OHSAS, etc.) & statutory regulations relating to vessel operations<br />• Recognized Lead Incident Investigator qualification<br />• Recognized academic or professional qualification in relevant field<br />• Strong data analytical skill</p><p></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities and Tasks</strong></p><p>Promoting A Strong, Pro-Active Safety Culture<br />Ensure the Company’s Safety Culture is promoted and maintained to the highest possible standards, in all locations, through;<br />• Active engagement with all employees on HSSEQ-related issues<br />• Participate in & provide input to HSSEQ-related meetings and inspections<br />• Actively promote the application of all Company Control of Work processes and safe working practices<br />• Implementing and promoting Companies Key Behaviors of Great Safety Leaders’ (accompanying this JD)<br /><br />Analysis & Reporting of Performance Data<br />• Provide insight to analysis of relevant HSSEQ performance data<br />• Provide support for programs to address or support performances<br />• Identification of performance trends and proposals of corrective plans & programs<br /><br />Incidents & Emergencies<br />• Support BU Cluster emergency response activities in actual and simulated emergency scenarios<br />• Provide HSSEQ-focused support during investigation of Accidents, Incidents & HiPo Near Misses, where required<br />• Support timely publication of Bulletins and Alerts<br /><br />Continual Improvement<br />• Identify opportunities for development of HSSEQ systems and programs<br />• Deliver initiatives for continual improvement of engagement in HSSEQ activities<br />• Identify and support technological innovation of HSSEQ programs and systems<br /><br />Compliance & Certification<br />Support BU Cluster HSSEQ Manager to ensure;<br />• Customer relations and satisfaction are continually maintained to ensure flawless service delivery<br />• timely completion of all required audits and inspections, and the retention of associated certification/licenses<br />• relevant standards, procedures and best practices are correctly implemented or adopted<br />• minimal potential legislative, operational, and administrative non-conformity<br />• the V.MS meets the requirements of all parties and any proposed amendments to internal documents are effectively passed to relevant Group function heads<br />• where BU Cluster-specific V.MS content is required to be compiled or amended, assist the relevant function head to submit and close such amendments<br />• all findings & actions are managed & effectively closed out within agreed timeframes<br /><br />HSSEQ Support<br />• Ensuring sufficient, timely, and efficient administrative support to the BU Cluster HSSEQ team in delivery functional duties and expectations<br />• Understudy BU Cluster HSSEQ Manager to provide resilience int eh function, and to develop personal skills and experience for future growth<br />• Actively partake in shore- and vessel-based safety meetings to encourage constructive discussion and drive management engagement<br /><br />Development & Evolution<br />• Identify opportunities for growth & development of the HSSEQ function, to ensure capabilities and means of delivery are continually improved<br />• Where required, assist in specific projects such as;<br />- management & maintenance of Ship Sure process, and Ship Sure BI analytics and insight.<br />- providing function-specific input to internal development projects.<br />- development and implementation of safety initiatives.</p>
