<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><p>● Experience working with container ships engaged in international trading.</p><p>● Appropriate years of seagoing experience as Master Mariner or Chief Engineer.</p><p>● Prior experience supervising a multi-tier crewing team.</p><p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p><p>● Bachelor's degree, preferably in maritime studies; Master Mariner (CoC Class I) or MEO Class I C/E preferred.</p><p>● Minimum 5 years of experience in crewing/personnel management, including relevant sea service where applicable.</p><p>● At least 5 years of experience working at a shore-based crewing management level.</p><p>● Thorough knowledge of RPSL requirements, crew planning, and relief scheduling.</p><p>● Good leadership skills and ability to manage a multi-tier reporting team.</p><p>● Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Outlook, Word, and Excel).</p><p>● Attention to detail and a proven track record in producing accurate, quality work.</p><p><strong>Primary Responsibilities:</strong></p><p>● Assists the General Manager-Talent Development of the company in the proper functioning and fulfilment of the objectives of the Personnel Management Group.</p><p>● Leads day-to-day personnel management operations for the assigned</p><p>group of vessels, ensuring seamless crew planning, deployment and relief scheduling.</p><p>● Supervises Manager(s) and the full reporting chain (Deputy Managers,</p><p>Senior Executives, Executives) within the department, sets performance standards and reviews team output.</p><p>● Coordinates crew changes, sign-on/sign-off schedules and relief planning in line with contract durations and vessel requirements.</p><p>● Ensures timely renewal of crew certificates, visas and travel documentation in coordination with the documentation team.</p><p>● Monitors crew wages, allotments and DA/PDA processing for accuracy and timeliness across the department.</p><p>● Approves recruitment decisions, promotions and any deviations from standard manning criteria within delegated authority.</p><p>● Addresses crew grievances and welfare matters escalated from Managers escalates unresolved matters to the General Manager.</p><p>● Ensures RPSL compliance for all personnel records and readiness for DG Shipping/IRS audits within the assigned group.</p><p>● Liaises with principal ship managers and manning agents on crew matters specific to the assigned vessels.</p><p><strong>Management Reporting:</strong></p><p>● Communicates expectations to direct reports, manages performance, and provides leadership and support to team members in a constructive, efficient, and effective way.</p><p>● Ensures that all reporting employees adhere to company policies and procedures.</p><p>● Is familiar with the Health, Safety, Environmental Protection and Quality Policy and understands the responsibilities under the Environmental Management System (EMS). Reports any noncompliance and/or concern to the General Manager or senior management directly or through the open reporting system as per Management System guidelines.</p><p><strong>Budget and KPI Management:</strong></p><p>● Monitors crewing operating budget for the assigned group, provides relevant commentary where required and keeps the General Manager advised on developments requiring action.</p><p>● Assists the General Manager in developing measures and initiatives based on identified Fleet Personnel KPIs so results are reflected in financial reporting.</p><p>● Maintains crew pool, availability lists, and crewing trackers for the assigned vessels. </p><p><strong>Communications and Reporting:</strong></p><p>● Provides guidance and direction to Managers and team members in coordinating crew matters with vessels and manning agents.</p><p>● Works with the General Manager to enable successful change management in a constructive and effective manner, improving departmental performance.</p><p>● Reports departmental KPIs, manning status and risks to the General Manager on a regular basis.</p>
