<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><p>● Experience working with container ships engaged in international trading.</p><p>● Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.</p><p><strong>Requirements: </strong></p><p>● Bachelor's degree; preferably in maritime studies; Master Mariner (CoC Class I)or MEO Class I C/E preferred.</p><p>● Seagoing experience of minimum 1 year as a Master/Chief Engineer.</p><p>● Minimum 5 years industry experience in crew training department with at least 3 years in a senior training management role.</p><p>● Strong knowledge of STCW, MLC and ISM training requirements.</p><p>● Experience managing training institutes and e-learning platforms.</p><p>● Strong communication and interpersonal skills; good command of English.</p><p>● Good leadership skills and ability to manage a multi-tier reporting team.</p><p>● Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).</p><p>● Attention to detail and a proven track record in producing accurate, quality work.</p><p><strong>Primary Responsibilities:</strong></p><p>● Assists the General Manager-Talent Development in the proper functioning and fulfilment of the objectives of the Global Training team.</p><p>● Leads and manages all crew training and development activities across the managed fleet.</p><p>● Develops the training programme, approved by the General Manager manages the Competency courses, value added courses and e-learning platforms.</p><p>● Manages relationships with approved training institutes, including coordinating training schedules and monitoring service standards.</p><p>● Supervises Manager(s) and the full reporting chain (Deputy Managers, Executives) within the Global Training Team, sets performance standards and reviews team output.</p><p>● Plans and schedules mandatory, refresher and career-development courses for all crew ranks; maintains the training matrix and ensures zero lapses in certification validity.</p><p>● Monitors training budgets, prepares variance reports, and keeps the General Manager advised on developments requiring action.</p><p>● Supports cadet sponsorship programmes and value-added course coordination.</p><p>● Liaises with the Global Talent Acquisition team on training needs identified during candidate assessments.</p><p>● Ensures RPSL/STCW compliance for all training records and readiness for DG Shipping/IRS audits.</p><p><strong>Management Reporting:</strong></p><p>● Communicates expectations to direct reports, manages performance, and provides leadership and support to team members in a constructive, efficient, and effective way.</p><p>● Ensures that all reporting employees adhere to company policies and procedures.</p><p>● Is familiar with the Health, Safety, Environmental Protection and Quality Policy and understands the responsibilities under the Environmental Management System (EMS), reporting any noncompliance and/or concern to the General Manager or senior management as per Management System guidelines.</p><p><strong>Training Management:</strong></p><p>● Ensures all crew comply with mandatory in-house training courses prior to and during deployment.</p><p>● Reviews training-related SOPs/procedures in line with RPSL and MLC guidelines.</p><p>● Assesses vessel condition and crew performance to identify training needs for seafarers onboard managed vessels.</p><p>● Oversees preparation, drafting and uploading of relevant training materials.</p><p>● Ensures pre-joining briefings and crew seminars are conducted as required. </p><p><strong>Communications and Reporting:</strong></p><p>● Provides guidance and direction to Managers in coordinating training- related engagement with vessels and training institutes.</p><p>● Works with the General Manager to enable successful change management, improving training department performance.</p><p>● Reports departmental KPIs, training compliance status and risks to the General Manager on a regular basis.</p>
