<p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Experience</strong></p><p><strong> </strong>Marine Engineering qualification / Certificate of Competency from a recognized maritime administration.</p><p> GME / Marine Engineering degree preferred.</p><p> Preferably ex-3rd / 4th Engineer with practical sea-going experience.</p><p> Minimum 4 years’ relevant shore-based marine/offshore technical experience preferred.</p><p> Experience in heavy deck cargo, project cargo or specialized vessels is an advantage.</p><p> Strong practical experience in vessel machinery, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and shipyard/workshop coordination.</p><p> Knowledge of Indian ports, shipyards and coastal trade preferred.</p><p> Willingness to travel frequently across India and attend vessels/repair facilities.</p><p><strong>Knowledge & Skills</strong></p><p><strong> </strong>Marine machinery, electrical, hydraulic and deck equipment.</p><p> PMS, maintenance planning and technical vessel management.</p><p> Class, Flag and statutory requirements.</p><p> Heavy deck cargo equipment and associated technical risks.</p><p> Repair coordination, troubleshooting and vendor management.</p><p> Technical quotation evaluation, procurement and cost control.</p><p> Technical reporting, documentation and MS Office.</p><p> Strong communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.</p><p></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p> Provide day-to-day technical support and monitor vessel machinery, PMS, maintenance and overall technical condition.</p><p> Coordinate with Master and Chief Engineer for troubleshooting, breakdowns, defects and corrective actions.</p><p> Monitor main engine, auxiliary, electrical, hydraulic, deck and cargo equipment.</p><p> Frequently attend vessels, ports, anchorages and shipyards for inspections, repairs, surveys and technical matters.</p><p> Identify repair requirements and arrange suitable workshops, service engineers, technicians and contractors.</p><p> Coordinate and supervise shore workshops for overhauling, fabrication, machining, hydraulic, electrical and other repairs.</p><p> Coordinate spares, services, manpower and vendors to ensure timely completion of repairs.</p><p> Obtain and evaluate technical quotations and support procurement and cost control.</p><p> Coordinate repairs with Operations to minimize vessel downtime.</p><p> Assist with dry-docking, shipyard repairs, class/statutory surveys and deficiency close-out.</p><p> Monitor fuel, lube oil and hydraulic oil consumption/testing and investigate abnormalities.</p><p> Maintain technical records, repair reports, service reports and compliance documentation.</p><p> Support machinery failure investigations and implementation of corrective actions.</p><p> Coordinate with Class, Flag, vendors, shipyards, workshops and other stakeholders.</p><p> Attend urgent technical matters at short notice and ensure vessel safety, seaworthiness and operational readiness.</p>
